Small. Noisy. Crowded. Don't let ANY of those things keep you from enjoying an authentic Italian meal at Oma. First, the building. This is the worst aspect of this restaurant. It is small and loud and they are incapable of seating more than 6 together indoors. The service was excellent. We came with a party of 11 and the staff made it work as quickly and well as they could given the restaurant's layout. The food was not super fast, but again the waitress took note that we had hungry kids and was able to expedite our apps and spaghetti to help get the kids fed a bit sooner. Despite the fact that our large party disrupted their restaurant's traffic flow, everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. We ordered a pepperoni / sausage pizza, mozzarella sticks, spaghetti, manicotti, and the grouper fradiavolo. All were excellent. The pizza had authentic New York style crust and the cheese was excellent. My only nitpick would be that the meat toppings were thinly cut and somewhat bland. The mozzarella sticks were nice and crispy and the accompanying homemade blended marinara was very good, with just hint of acidity. Our side spaghetti was served with a nice meaty version of their tomato sauce. Our kids devoured it. My wife enjoyed her manicotti which was topped with melted cheese and bathed in the same blended marinara. My grouper was outstanding. The large piece of fish was cooked nicely and the tomato based tutti mare sauce that it came with was packed with seafood and bursting with flavor. My only other small nitpick was the side salad that came with our entrees. It consisted of iceberg lettuce, onion, a single slice of cucumber and a single slice of tomato. Not much to it. That said, the accompanying house made vinegarette was fantastic. I found their pizza quite affordable and the dinners a bit expensive. The portions were generous, though. If it were possible to give 4.5 stars, I would. Given that I can't, I think Oma's cones closer to 5 stars than 4.

Killer stombolis! Good service! The house salad dressing also is amazing. Highly recommend this place while on your Anna Maria visit.

The pizza here is always fantastic! It is not too greasy and has good flavor. My favorite thing is the dough, which is between a thin crust and hand tossed size. We usually get carryout here and do not eat in. For right now, just for the pizza and fast service we get from carryout, I will give this place 5 stars. I will try to eat inside and try the other food later, then update this review. If you are in the mood for pizza and want to eat at home, I recommend Oma's over the pizza chains.

Oh Oma's! I have a 'love/hate' relationship with you...(hate is a strong word, so let me rephrase..) I have a 'love/frustrated' relationship with you. First off, you are the ONLY PIZZA PLACE THAT DELIVER'S to gulf of mexico drive....for that 1 reason alone, I love you because I have to have my pizza fix every now & then - and when I want to stay in for the night, and just hangout on the balcony listening to the wave's crash - yes, I want my pizza delivered. For that, I am truly, sincerely thankful. The 'frustrated' part is when I call and you are soooo busy (probably because you are the only pizza place that delivers on that stretch, and everyone & their mother also happens to want pizza the very same night I call....damn pizza eaters!!!) that I have to wait AN HOUR for my pizza...one time, it was an hour 1/2...yeparoni...but I didn't have a choice. So I would patiently wait - and then I got smart!!! I started to 'zone in' on my pizza craving's early on, so that I'd place my order at 5pm versus 7pm...how do ya like those apples? or pizza's? Pizza is average, not bad, but not great - hey, when your desperate for delivery, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. There is NO Domino's that delivers where I stay, NO Pizza Hut...trust me I've tried asking all of them (and even pleaded at times..'are you sure'? 'I'm really not that far'..). No such luck...but it's OK, cause I get my fix and I am happy with eating pretty 'ok' pizza. Maybe you deserve a 5 for delivery, & a 2.8 for pizza, but I'm leaving with an 'A OK' review...

My wife and I have vacationed on AMI every year for four years in a row, and Oma's is the only place we will go for pizza and pasta. Had the linguini calamari and it was excellent! The calamari was fresh and combined with their fresh made marinara sauce and the huge portions never leaves me disappointed. Their pizzas are hand made with fresh ingredients and have always been excellent. It is a small place and is not setup well for large groups (5-6 or more). During peak dining times, service does get a bit slow. We tend to go there during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds and longer waits. We were there at about 4:30 PM, there were several other patrons in the restaurant, but they were not super busy. Appetizer came out quickly and our dishes arrived soon after. Over the past four years, not one dish or pizza we've order has disappointed!

Great place I had the eggplant as appetizer and didn't regreat a bit. It's big portion and good flavor

Awesome pizza. Nice crispy crust all the way to the point. Our server Lisa was great. Checking in periodically. Not too much. Not to little. My family won't leave the island each year without eating at Oma's at least twice.

Had pizza for lunch - 3 separate pies ordered by 7 of 8 in our party. All who ate pizza ended up sick about an hour afterward. Pie lovers beware!

3 1/2 stars...not quite 4. We had a pan styled cheese pizza. They come in rectangular slabs and have a good taste. Their pizza isn't the overly spicy and the tomato sauce is on the blander side, which we prefer. Cheers

Just very grumpy counter help and if the get your order wrong it's never their fault. Then ordered delivery, they show up with the wrong order. I call them and they say "don't eat it". Apparently they recycle food and it still took them an hour to show up with the correct order.

My family and I have been vacationing in Longboat Key for many years. We always make sure to have Oma's Pizza one of the days for a break from the seafood restaurants. The pizza is always good, a small antipasto salad will feed 3, prices are reasonable. We have always dined at the restaurant and the service has been fine. This year we ordered takeout and everything was as good as in prior years EXCEPT for the service. When I picked up my order the waitress was VERY unpleasant! She gave the impression that I was bothering her. If this had been the first time I had been to the restaurant I would never go back again. I will go back and assume the waitress was having a bad day. Try the restaurant for the food and the prices and hopefully you will get service with a smile!

Great food, great service! Super large portions!!! The chicken Marsala was wonderful. And the Large pizza was big enough to feed a small army. My kids loved it!! Will definitely be going back to Oma's for more great Italian dishes.

  • Jennifer F.

Great pizza! We got a white pizza - the fresh garlic was so good. We also got a regular pizza with pepperoni and veggies. Delicious. The crust is chewy and crisp. We were seated quickly, and the service was good.

  • Hannah D.

This place is fantastic!! We ordered cheese and pepperoni pizza from here twice while we were on Anna Maria Island. The pizza is a New York style pizza, which is my favorite. The flavor was authentic Italian style tasting. We also tried the garlic bread with cheese added on top. The garlic was good but the cheese just seemed like added cheese slices, nothing too special. Overall, if you're a pizza lover like me this place is definitely worth the try. Prices are good and food is excellent!

  • Tricia T.

Pizza was good. Calling in order was very disorganized. Three people took the call. One took the order and took two to take payment info and address. Order was wrong when delivered. All i got was a shrug of the shoulders from the delivery driver.

Pizza is good, the dinners are terrible. The chicken parm was practically inedible, when we told the waitress we didn't like it and wanted to change it out they got extremely rude and VIOLENT The kitchen staff was yelling and called us idiots. THE OWNER GRABBED HIS GENITALS AND CALLED US NAMES as well. We almost had to call the police to leave. I would highly suggest never stepping foot in this establishment.

  • Ludi F.

Absolutely hate this place. The food wasn't good at all. My brother, cousin and I spent most of the day at the beach and were looking for something to fill us up after a long day splashing around in the ocean and tanning, so we were hungry! The service was pretty poor, but the pizza was even worse. We will not be returning to this restaurant. Better just go to village idiots. It's off the island, but it's so much better and the service and family who run the place are just so nice...

Had a great time with the family, who has been in this spot for over 30 years. The food portions are huge, so eat accordingly . The calzone was 4 inches high and a foot long! Delicious. Smaller space so get there early

  • Michelle S.

Good pizza, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders and inexpensive. We ordered for carryout and were told 20 minutes. It actually took 40. Dine in area is small, all booths. Not good for parties of more than 4 unless you sit at the one table outside.

  • David E.

We stopped by at 12:30. We almost kept going because it looked closed but an employee was outside smoking (always someone outside we noticed) who informed us they were open. We had a medium pizza which was big enough for left overs. This place is not the best place ever but it hit the spot.

  • Lauren B.

My husband has been talking about this place for a long time as he used to go here when his family would vacation at the beach growing up. We decided to stop by for lunch before the beach. I ordered a house salad and it was lack luster, typical pizza place salad. We ordered a medium pepperoni and bacon pizza. It was fine as pizza goes. My husband scarfed it down but I think he was enjoying the taste of nostalgia more than the actual pizza. It was good pizza but not stand out.

  • Bob C.

The best pizza and Italian food in Sarasota, Bradenton and Bradenton Beach. The pizza is straight from NY. Crisp crust, light sauce, fresh mozzarella and lots of toppings. In fact they hold the Guinness record for the worlds largest pizza. Try their eggplant. It is freshly fried and crisp on the outside and tender inside. Also their calamari and clam sauce is amazing. All fresh ingredients just like in sicily, where the owners are from. They have a small assortment if wine and coke products.

  • Stephanie S.

Had the stuffed mushrooms appetizer. They were wonderful! The small, hand-tossed Oma's special pizza was much bigger than I expected for a small. Loved the crust & the toppings. My kids tried the large pepperoni Sicilian crust. That was excellent, also! Highly recommend trying this place while in the area. The service was excellent & so friendly. We'll definitely be back the next time we are on Anna Maria!

  • Ellen E.

Service was awful. Pizza was loaded with toppings but very low on flavor. I could've made the pizza myself. Good price range and atmosphere. Not to mention it's right across the street from the beach. But still. Ugh.

This is the absolute best place for fettuccine Alfredo ever. The waitress mentioned I could have mushrooms added if I wanted and I did with a hint of garlic was excellent. I have tried many Italian restaurants both overseas up north, cross country and around Florida nothing compares with this mouth watering sauce. Have tried finding a good Alfredo closer to our winter home but have not. So we will continue to drive the hour for this. My husband loves the pizza as the sauce has the perfect blend of spices for him. Prices are very satisfying and to me worth every bite and more than I could eat in a sitting. From bringing others with us that have tried other menu items, they have enjoyed all their orders. This is a small place but the wait if you have one, the staff and the food certainly make it well worth it.

  • Amy Z.

Great pizza, white pizza, & fettucine alfredo. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it (especially after a night of drinking).

The Veal Francesca is wonderful. The Anti Pasta is also wonderful. Our Favorite place to eat in Bradenton Beach.

  • Sofia G.

Service and food were not bad however the entire time I was there I was wishing we had just gotten up and left. The place is small so our party sat outside - which does not have any shading and the two fans did nothing to cool us down. Flies arrived at same time our food arrived - the flies were everywhere! The mushrooms on our pizza were from the can - and the chicken added to Alfredo cost $7! I am pretty sure the flies enjoyed our food and drinks. Will never return.

We stay at AMI once a year for a week and the day we arrive we always order pizza from Oma. It is really a solid place for pizza and really surprised. We claim Chicago and you won't be getting deep dish here. The pizza is NY style and I find they do a perfect balance of toppings, sauce and dough. We don't get too crazy but I can tell you the Pepperoni, Cheese and Sausage are great. The sausage is sliced like a pepperoni.

  • Jay S.

This is the place to go if you aspire for mediocre food and want to wait for it. Had calamari which came straight from the freezer to the fryer. Since our order was take out and we had to wait for over an hour when we were told the food would be ready in 30 minutes, the calamari sat for an extra 30 minutes waiting for the pizza to get done. As a result the calamari was cold. The pizza was also only so-so. I have had better frozen pizza. The dough was not cooked and the sauce was too tomatoey. Consider yourself forewarned if you walk in the door.

This was our second visit. The first was fine. This time we were seated and abandoned for about five minutes. Later they seated a group of 6 near us, took their drink orders, and turned and glared at us and left. They brought drinks for the other group and pointedly ignored us again. This happened once again so we left. Do not allow yourself to be seated next to elderly as the staff seemed to practice age discrimination. (I am only 62)

We were looking for something easy to take out for dinner tonight. I ordered a small cheese pizza for the kids. Omg it was huge! They loved it. I ordered the calzone for my husband and I. Thank his we only ordered one. It was also HUGE! It was very tasty. Different, but tasty. It was filled with ricotta cheese. At first I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to a major cheese fest, but this was good. Once I got over it, I enjoyed it. Next time I may ask for just regular cheese. I have. Feeling with the tasty crust it would be absolutely divine.

Recently stopped by for my fathers birthday. He wanted to head out to the island as we had not been to Oma's in years. We all ordered pizza, extra cheese &pepperoni and a supreme. We also ordered a small side salad and stuffed mushrooms. The food came out quickly and the appetizer was great. The butter sauces served with the mushrooms was so tasty. The side salad left quite bit to be desired. I handful of iceberg lettuce with a few other odds and ends thrown on there, for $4.50. The pizzas arrived shortly thereafter. The pepperoni & extra cheese pizza was to my mothers liking, but sh did state it was not as good as last time she was there. the supreme pizza was just ok. It was soggy in the center and the topping fell off when you tried to eat it. You really needed a fork as it was so soggy. We finished our meal and had good service. We really thought that the food had room for improvement given the relatively high prices they charged for their items compared to other pizza places. I guess there is a premium on the island. Our tab came to $61 for an appetizer, salad, and a small & large pizza. The price was kind of steep given the quality of the food and for that reason, I would probably look for another place to eat next time I am in the area.

Perfectly AWFUL. I had given a $50 gift certificate for Christmas without trying their pizza and it was the worse disaster ever.

After five years of ordering from this restaurant I will no longer be ordering .the delivery takes always over an hour and a half . the food is extremely expensive and anytime you ask for any accoutrements to come with your dinner they forget. When you call to remind them that they forgotten they don't care

Oma's pizza is one of the best, if not THE best pizza in the Anna Maria Island area. This family knows their food and how to treat the customer right. They were even chatting with some of the regular customers proving this to be a genuine establishment with a family that cares. And it shows! Their food is amazing. You will not be disappointed.

Family style Italian restaurant with really good pizza done New York style. Old school decor, sassy wait staff, small booths. If you're looking for wood fired pizza and an extensive bar menu- go to Sarasota or Tampa. If you want beach community, family owned, decent Italian- come to Oma's.

I think if we had gotten our food to-go, our experience would've been fine...the food's a solid 3 stars. However, the ambiance is not great and our service was terrible. The server knew it, too, and told us she didn't put the auto-gratuity on our bill. We still tipped because it's her livelihood, but I'm not sure I've ever been more disappointed by a dining experience. Here's the details: they stuffed 4 adults, a teenager, and a baby in a highchair in a 4-top, so we were uncomfortably squashed in, to the point that the teenager went to sit in the waiting area after scarfing his meal, but that wasn't the worst of it. Besides waiting too long for drink refills and mixing up several special requests on our salads (i.e. no onions, etc.), we didn't appreciate the server's attitude. I don't know if the she was just having a bad night, doesn't like kids, or if she was annoyed that the highchair was blocking the small aisle, but the baby grabbed for one of the salads as she was distributing them and one slid off the plate onto her tray. Her voice was full of disgust when she said she'd have to go remake them. I told her not to worry -- we'd eat it as is. When we realized that our salads weren't quite right, we didn't say anything, as we only requested the bare minimum of her, as that seemed to be all she was capable or wiling to provide.

Never ever order from this place! We ordered a half veggie half cheese pizza and were told that it would arrive in 45 minutes. After calling the restaurant several times, the pizza finally showed up 2 hours later! Not only was it ice cold, but it tasted like the ingredients had gone bad. The driver was definitely stoned and offered no apology. Never ordering from these fools again!

We are staying on the island and had dinner here the first night. We ordered the lasagna and shrimp marinara dinners. Decent salad, best thing about it was the house Italian dressing. Lasagna was okay. The shrimp dish was a big disappointment. Sauce was too sweet, way too salty and four shrimp and a few clams to a huge dish of fettuccine. Outrageous for the price. I read the pizza reviews perhaps we should have gone with that. Parking set up is terrible. Owner thinks its ok to have her delivery driver sort out his cash for her on the checkout counter in the middle of the incoming and outgoing customers, which clogs up a part of the restaurant that is already impassable. Do that in the back office ! Don't think we'll be back.

  • Amanda L.

Great pizza place! Everything was fresh, the decor was nicely put together, and food came at a steady pace. It was like being in Italy! Only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because of the waitress, it seemed like she was annoyed with her job but other than that, i highly recommend this place.

  • Ron M.

One ways back from beach pulled in this pizza joint. We noticed immediately very busy when entered and were told sit wherever, picked a table and staff kept walking back and forth and never came by to take drink order. I had to flag someone down to get food and drinks order after 10 minutes. Placed order my girl friend ordered wine and had question which the waitress couldn't answer. The food arrived and she never received her wine we were not charged but didn't wanna waste the breathe trying to get the wine, we sat around 10-15 minutes waiting for check which again had to flag down someone, they really have poor customer service, but at least the food was good, likely will not return.

Nice little pizza place. Only place that had delivery while we were on longboat so we tried it. There large was pretty big. Got a large cheese and a large veggie and Hawaiian split. Toppings didn't look great but overall the taste was great. Not bad for a little pizza joint on the key.

We are out of town and staying on the island. Ordered Calzone. Was horrible, huge amount of cheese and had cheap bits of ham (very little ham and mushrooms)and appeared to be canned mushrooms. About 15 bucks including 1.50 for sauce. 1.50 for sauce!!! Save yourself from disappointment. Pass them by.

The place used to make a decent pizza. It's an island institution worth going to so you can say you've been. I like the meatball pizza with black olive and garlic. It's a beach access food stop so don't go in expecting the ritz and you'll be fine

Family is on vacation for a few nights here in AMI...... Read some previously negative reviews... About customer service..so was a little worried... . Our order was carry out.. Told me 20 minutes and food was ready on time.... Veal and mushroom hero.... Wife had chicken parmesean.... Both we're good... Not great.. But good... Large portion sizes as well... Could tell the customer service was nit there strong point... But could tell they take pride in their food and are just proud people... Would eat again. For sure...

Oma's pizza is great. It's a very small place on Gulf drive on Anna Maria Island. They have an outdoor patio as well and that is where we sat. It was a very hot day but the covered porch was much cooler and we could watch what was going on on gulf drive. We had a medium pizza (6 slices) with garlic, bacon, tomatos and onion on it. It was amazingly good. Oma's also delivers until midnight! i highly recommend Oma's if you are on Anna Maria!

Good pizza. Ordered the kids a bacon, sausage, and pepperoni pizza. They were very happy with it. I also ordered (drumroll please!) their stuffed mushrooms. They were swimming in garlic butter and had bacon and a little sausage in them as well as Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. Oh My Gooodness!!! FANTASTIC!!! These are a MUST TRY!! Will definitely order again when on AMI!

  • Adam M.

Oma's was pretty good. It's a solid pie. I was looking for a little more zing in the tomato sauce. The crust was good. The large pizza fed three people no problem. We ordered pepperoni, sausage, and fresh mushrooms and we also got a house salad. I'd suggest the house Italian salad dressing. The wait staff was nice, quick, and helpful. The restaurant is tiny. I'd suggest pick-up. Parking also was tight. Again it's a solid pizza place, just wish the sauce had a bit more flavor.

Pizza not very flavorful. Did not like sausage "slices". Too NY! Canned & not fresh mushrooms. Delivered to Longboat!! But not many do! Slow delivery. They said 45 but more long 1 1/2. No gluten free pizza:(. Come on get with the times! 3 stars for overall pizza quality & flavor.

We have seen this place on drive byes going to the beach, did a few review researches and decide to stop in while on are way to gaze at ison. As you walk in to either pick up or be seated they are preparing pizzas just behind the counter! Very crowded and pushy but if your right off the main street what do you expect. We ordered via phone and was in and out for our pickup in less than 10 minutes. From slice to slice very scrumptious nothing left but a greasy cardboard pizza box. Cant say I've ever had a pizza that i just drop'd over dead for, to me a pizza is pizza like a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich is a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich. It had just the right amount of cheese, sauce, and grease. The tomato sauce was sweat so kinda of different for my taste buds but not a bad thing. The only real complaint i had was the cost for additional toppings and when requested very stingy.

We ordered our food and chose to pick it up due to the bad reviews on here about their slow delivery. The food was awesome and the portions were huge! We ordered Chicken fettuccine alfredo, chicken Carbonara and a small pineapple & ham hand tossed pizza. Everything was exceptionally great tasting. The three of us sat around the dinner table sharing our meals and the sounds we made were ummmmmm, oh wow, mm-mmmmm, yummmmmm and not much talking because we were eating! The only thing I would advice is they have very large potions! We will get two more meals of this great food!

Food and service were excellent! We had a large party of 8 so we had to sit at split booths but it was fine. The amount of food we got was enormous! And delicious!! Reminded me of my Nonna's cooking. I had the eggplant Parmesan & kids had pizza. Both delish!

This review was based on two experiences with Oma's. One from last year and one from this year. Let's start with last year, one if the best thin crust pizzas I ever had. Sauce was awesome and cooked perfect. Now let's talk this this year, sauce was still good but the toppings we not fresh and very lite. Please don't cheap out on your toppings, those are very important. Thank you!

We ordered three pizzas to go at Oma's, a Sicilian, Hawaiian, and pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. The pizzas were ready in 20 minutes and smelled amazing as we walked back to our place. The crust was thick and fluffy and perfectly crisped on the outside. There wasn't too much tomato sauce and the toppings were perfectly balanced. The flavors were great and the pizza was enjoyed by all! A great Saturday afternoon lunch.

Great traditional 'mom & pop' Italian restaurant with great pizza and pastas. Kid friendly. We were seated quickly, service was very good, food came quickly. Food was very good but not amazing. I only give 5 stars for amazing.

After a week of stuffing myself with seafood (mostly the freshest grouper I've ever tasted in my life). I needed a break from fried grouper sandwiches, baked grouper sandwiches, grouper Oscar, grouper Mac n cheese, grouper fish n chips, grouper cakes, and anything else grouper the locals can do with it and went to Oma's for pizza. After looking at the menu though, I was enamored with the eggplant parmesan. Promised to be an old family recipe, and just like Gramma Oma used to make. I was sold. Besides the pizza looked like NYC style pizza, thin and without nuance. (I tried the pizza another day and found it to be good, it needed salt and toppings, I've had better like Zio's in Brandenton on 14th st.). The eggplant came with a side of pasta, the sauce that accompanied the pasta tasted like a can, almost could have used a bit of sugar to give it some body. The eggplant parmesan was pretty amazing, not healthy, lots of deep frying going on, 6 huge crispy breaded eggplant rounds, a rich, baked sauce, and rich cheese. If Gramma Oma came up with this recipe, may she be blessed wherever she is! Oma's is awesome on AMI, when you need a break from the hundreds of seafood places!

Stick to the take out Pizza. The server has annoying and abrasive and the food (Linguini with Red Clam Sauce) was not very good and way overpriced for the quality.

The service the first time must have been a fluke. I've been back several times and the pizza has always been on point, but the service is just awful!! It takes forever and they just aren't friendly. We even got asked to leave one time because they needed the table even though we JUST paid our check. We do carry out and I will continue to carry out, no more dining in.

Without a doubt the best pizza place on Anna Maria Island! The pizza is awesome, always hot, light, great sauce, not overly greasy, full of flavor and fresh. It's better to take out from here, and my only knock on the place would be it's dine - in experience. It's like a hectic Italian nightmare, extremely loud and noisy. Italian hostesses and managers screaming at each other...in Italian of course. The wait is always absurdly long and they are unorganized. Most people realize this and stick to what this place does best, the pizza! and pick-up and take-out. Would highly recommend Oma's, but not dining-in there.

Being from Chicago and having had my fair share of terrible pizza in Florida, I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza from Oma. After a day in the sun and little to eat, we decided to order a few pizzas to be sent to our hotel. The pizzas came fast, they were piping hot and they were pretty good.

The food was great. We stuck to the basics - pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. Both were hot and fresh and delicious. We got the antipasto salad. There were more toppings than lettuce but it was still very good. Would have given them 4-4 1/2 stars if not for the service. They seemed unprepared for how busy they were. They were way understaffed as far as waitresses. We waited a long time for the salad to come out after ordering. The pizza came out 10 minutes before the spaghetti. We never saw our waitress again after she dropped off the last of our food. No refills, nothing. We ended up going to the front to ask for our check as we got tied of waiting. The entire front team seemed angry they were so busy. Took them 10 more minutes to find my check. It was good food but it surprised me that a place in business this long hasn't figured out how much more money they could make if they just hired a few more people.

Pizza was good not great, for sure not a real italian pizza, the place is stuffy and the smoke of the waitress from the open door next to our table made the place just ok! I do not think I will go there again!

I'm originally from N.Y. and trust me, a New Yorker knows good pizza. This was by far the best pizza I have found so far in Florida. It's a good 25-30 minute trip but it's well worth it. I have found my new favorite pizza place. To those I use to visit. A tearful "I'm sorry but you're just not that good" cathymcdowell.vpweb.com

Odered pizzas from OMA to be delivered: 1. Quantity is good 2.Quality is fair at best 3.Delivery service was on time Being from Chicago it's hard to find good pizza in Florida that matches up. JT

We ordered takeout. Good pizza. If you order hamburger it is actually sliced up meatball, which was good, just different than what we are use to in the midwest. The actual restaurant is very small so if you don't do takeout or go during a busy time this could be an issue.

We ordered a small Oma pizza, Alfredo tortellini and the chef's salad and everything was terrific!!! The service was very good. Oma's a nice family owned friendly restaurant; definitely worth visiting again.

We felt like the food and the service were less than expected. It was a little pricey for the quality received. We probably won't be eating here again.

Ordered for takeout and it was ready within 20 minutes. I had the Oma Special and I would say it was better than the average pizza.

Ordered a slice of pizza was ok not much flavor. The people next to me (some of my customers) tried a pizza and the center was soft and mushy not cooked fully through. My chicken Parm I ordered was not a fresh chicken breast that was battered but a frozen patty with a slice or Moz cheese laid on top. Shredded cheese should have been used. The staff seems nice. But all in all I will not be going back and will tell my customers to stay away...

Worst service I have ever had in my life!!! First took 15 minutes for a server to come to the table. Then we ordered water and beer for the family, got the beer and yet took her 15 minutes to bring us our water. THEN ordered our pizzas, which were THREE pizzas. When our food came out we only received TWO. We waited thinking it was coming right out, but when we asked the server where it was she looked at us like we were crazy, and said we ordered two only. She then looked at her paper and said, "Oh crap! Let me go check on that!" 15 minutes go by then the server came back and told us it would only take 5 minutes for us to get the other pizza. 45 MINUTES go by and we still haven't seen the third pizza!! When we asked to speak to the owner, the owner refused to come talk to us, and said they weren't taking the pizza off, which we had waiting over an hour for AFTER we had placed received the other two pizzas. ( Not to mention the rest of us were done with our meal, and the two others in our party had not even eaten). When the owner brought the pizza out she was very rude and did not care about the situation. OH and I forgot to add that they ran out of all the draft beer we had ordered for a second round, and would not let us do their 6 pack deal which was the same price. I am a server myself, and I have never ever EVER had such a bad experience, or seen a such TERRIBLE Owner in life. I really hope this stops people from going to this restaurant. They are very inconsiderate and rude people, and not by any means need to be running a restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I didn't think their pizza was that great. Go here for their Italian dishes and calzone instead. The latter one is amazing, you can split between 3 as I did, make sure you order a side of their sauce to go along with it. On their Italian dishes, I highly recommend their chicken cacciatore they serve you a hefty portion for a price relative to Olive Garden and they wouldn't serve you that much at Olive.

You can count on Oma's for good pizza with plenty of zing and yummy, chewy crust. And we love that you can get slices. Not an upscale place, but who cares? It's pizza! At the beach!

The pizza was one of the best I've had; mushrooms, olives, meatballs. Had to wate a little bit longer than expected for the food so the calamari we had was just perfect. The calamari was enough for 4 people Services was also good..not best but good. Only thing I could say is that it was warm in the place. Get there before 6 so you dont have to wait in line.

My husband and I decided to give this place a try in our visit after reading great reviews. Like the previous comments the stuffed mushrooms are to die for. Stuffed with bacon, garlic, breadcrumbs, and some great seasoned butter. My husband had the antipasta salad and said it was amazing, just a little to much dressing for him, but otherwise great! Thank goodnes we ordered a small pizza because it was huge! Great flavor and toppings. I would agree with other commenters that the Italian sausage is a little on the sweet side, but I definitely try this place again!

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Oma Pizza and were very glad we did. We had about 30 people come in on a Friday night around dinner time and it went amazingly smooth. The food was great, service was fantastic and prices were VERY reasonable. Everybody loved it! We will be back.

We recently had a huge family dinner here with 60+ people and they took great care of us! Every other restaurant in town wanted a deposit and a fixed menu, but Oma's was great and said, we'll write you down and just come on in. We added another 10+ people, day of, who hadn't let us know if they'd make it or not, and they figured out how to make it work. (This isn't the largest restaurant in the world, at all, with a bunch of booths and a small and small to med size patio.) They borrow chairs from the neighboring restaurant and made some more outdoor seating. They even got parking for us in the other restaurant's lot (we were having the wedding next door the next day). The staff was great. They had to say "excuse me" to pass by all of us milling around a half a million times, but they never once gave us attitude. As for the food, I think it was pretty decent. I honestly didn't notice much as I was busy greeting everyone and socializing. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. It's also in a central location in Bradenton Beach, right across the street from the beach.

At 8pm on a Saturday, we tried to get Domino's -- but it seems that they were closed already per the website-ordering. So, I Yelped/GoogleMapped for something near our timeshare on Gulf Dr. I chose not to read the reviews after last night's fiasco at a trendy place up in Palm Harbor. I doubt it would have changed our minds about going. We got side salads, the stuffed mushrooms, a baked lasagna and baked meat ravioli. SIde salads were crisp iceberg with a wedge of tomato. The creamy Italian dressing was pretty good. The fresh bread was still warm, but the butter a touch too cold for spreading easily. The stuffed mushrooms were HUGE. 4 for the serving @ $8. Stuffed with breadcrumbs and bacon, braised with a garlic butter sauce. We each had one and saved the other two for tomorrow's leftovers. Mom liked the lasagna. The sauce had flavor and the cheese had to be whole milk mozz as it was tasty and stringy. I had the meat ravioli. Not a lot of seasoning on the meat-filling but over all this place had more flavor than Pssghetti's last night. We both only ate half, so leftovers for tomorrow. Given that they have late hours, this was a benefit for us as we are on California-time still.

We just got the Pizza and cheese sticks. Cheese sticks were fine but hard to mess up. Pizza was ok but nothing to exciting. Service was really bad they only had one person working.

Ordered takeout on our first night on the island. Staff at the counter were super friendly, attentive, and fast. I was in-and-out with a very hot pizza in no time. A large pizza and salad was more than enough for our family of four. While not the best pizza I've ever had, it got the job done after a day of traveling. There isn't much parking right in front, but it wasn't very busy on the Sunday afternoon I was there. I would definitely go back based on how friendly the staff were and the quality of the pie.

The wait staff is very friendly and the service is good. The pizza is nothing special but satisfactory. The real gems of this restaurant are the main dishes and the sauces. Highly recommend the scampi and the any dish with the pasta sauce. Salads are average. Great alternative to the seafood restaurants in the area.

Best pizza anywhere, including NYC! Pizza is sooo good, it doesn't need toppings to jazz it up. Also, great eggplant and veal parm. Family owned business. Friendly and helpful staff. We try to go there once a week.

After a week of seafood on the island, we were ready for some Italian. Oma's hit the spot. The pizza was good and my teenage son said it was one of the better restaurant lasagna's he has had. I wouldn't recommend the chicken parm - stick with the pizza. Our waitress was great and we left full and happy!

  • Lena N.

i feel really bad saying all this because the service was great. they were friendly and attentive. and that vinaigrette, just whoa...the best I've ever tasted but the food was a fail! the pizza was blah! flavorless sauce, crappy cheese, and the crust was ehh. chicken parm - chicken was WAY too thin, which led it to be dry and tough. and again, the sauce was blah. sort of tasted like they opened a can of Hunt's tomato sauce and poured it over the chicken. the Italian sausage was way too sweet. sometimes, i think I'm a bit of a tough critic just because I grew up around AMAZING Italian food, but this was truly unsatisfying. sad.

Loved this place!! Great pizza - we had pepperoni and meatballs on it.. Super tasty! Pretty small - don't go if you're not willing to wait for a table at dinnertime. However we wouldn't let that stop us from going back to get some good food!!

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE! WORST SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN A VERY LONG TIME!! We were vacationing in Anna Maria Island, FL and decided to order pizza on the beach and wanted to avoid the Dominos of the world and we wanted delivery so we could enjoy some dinner with the kids on the beach while taking in the sunset. What a disaster. We ordered 3 pizzas - it took almost hour and half to get them and when we got them open at the beach, all of them were not fully cooked. One had nearly raw mushrooms and onions on it and the mushrooms were disgusting. Pizza was worthless. I was so upset that I called. They tell me to drive the pizza down to their restaurant to get a refund!!!! Like I'm going to miss the sunset and leave the beach to return a worthless $20 pizza. Returned the pizza the next day just because I was so upset that these guys would do that. The owner was rude and condescending asking me "where the hell was I from to say their mushrooms weren't cooked." - Need I say more? Forget this place at all costs and find somewhere else to go... MAYBE LOSING BUSINESS BECAUSE OF BAD REVIEWS WILL WAKE THESE PEOPLE UP BUT I DOUBT IT. I HOPE THIS REVIEW CAUSES SOME TO SKIP OMA'S AND TAKE THEIR BUSINESS TO A RESTAURANT THAT CARES ABOUT IT'S CUSTOMERS/PATRONS.

We asked a local person where was a good place to get a bite to eat for lunch and he said "Oma's has the best pizza on the island!" and he was right. We stopped in a nice A/C'ed place to cool of midday and ordered their meatball pizza. It cam steaming hot with delicious New York crust. It was great! We also had their stuffed mushrooms...4 large ones with a bacon stuffing...they were gone! If you are ever on Anna Maria Island and want a meal and a break from the sun...stop in!!

If you like overpriced, mediocre pizza combined with poor service then this is your place. We ordered carryout pizza and when we went to pick it up we had to wait 30 minutes to get to the counter even though the pizza was all set and sitting above the oven. No one could be bothered to wait on us. You are much better off getting your pizza from a chain pizza place.

A family run business (looks like Jersey Shore behind the counter) that has a really homey feeling. We enjoyed the enormous calzone-this they clearly know how to make well. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and were easily worth the meager price. We were a fan. Little tough to park even if you carry out. Looks like the restaurant on the beach is trying to squeeze them out which is rather sad.

Will not be going back. Very cramped setting, the size of a shoebox. Service was okay. Asked server to check the fountain drink dispenser as coke tasted like soda water. Waitress did not even offer to get us another. Also, make the most of your drink as you only get one free refill! Pizza is very sloppy so you have to eat with a knife and fork. Needed a steak knife to cut the crust rather than the butter knife. Crust was like rubber. Meatballs are shaved rather than a round ball - what is the point of a meatball? Cheese bread was like eating rubber. Stuffed mushrooms were good but not anything extraordinary. Though everything was way overpriced. Will not be going back.

One of a handful places to get pizza on the island, so we thought we'd give it a try. Every time we drove by, the parking lot was empty...so we were skeptical. But they ended up delivering some good, BIG sliced, pizza. Would get again.

Nice to find an Italian spot on the beach road. You walk through the door and hear Italian being spoken. "Oma" is the endearing term for "grandma". Oma's is Sicilian Italian. Great menu of traditional foods. I was disappointed I wasn't "big hungry". A house salad with house dressing was great. Had a nice portion of spaghetti with plain sauce as a side. Not the best I've had, but hit the Italian spot that needed filling in me. People were ordering stuffed shells and specialty pizzas and ravioli around me, making me want to come back before I'd even left. Service and cook time was great. This would be a great place to eat and bring stuff back for a second beach meal if you have a fridge and microwave in your room! I have my eye on a deep dish pizza for the next visit!

  • Kristen F.

This was either the best pizza I had ever had or I was really hungry, probably the latter but it was good though. We also ordered cheesy bread which was weird because it was bread sliced down the middle with some cheese slices in the middle (It didn't cover the whole piece of bread), toasted and sliced. It came with a bowl of marinara sauce. It was a Monday night and the restaurant was not very busy so we were able to sit where we wanted. We picked a booth furthest from the counter which was a bad choice because the waitress didn't seem to remember we were there.

I found this pizza to be 10x better than Solo's Pizza in Holmes Beach. Oma's cheese is very good and so is the crust, but I thought the sauce was way too sweet. I refrigerated the leftovers and found that it tasted much better the next day.

Oma is simple tasty pizza and good prices. The best part? They are open until 11pm which is unheard off in this part of FL. Unless you go to Applebee's. But don't do that...go to Oma

The service was good, but the pizza was terrible. I would have been better off with something from a microwave. The cheese tasted like it was processed cheese.

We were newcomers on vacation in the Longboat Key area and stepped into Oma's hoping it would be exactly what we wanted...it was! I had lasagna and my husband got a medium pizza (which lasted him 3 days). There a lot of sun-kissed families with every table taken. My lasagna was the best I've had an ages. The service was very friendly and timely, too. This is not your fancy-schmancy italian restaurant, which is fine by me, since those types of places usually have mediocre food.
